Relay Race
We will have an extra credit area for players and spectators to partake in. We will have football toss, cornhole, ladder golf, washers and disc disaster.
EVENT DETAILS
Dizzy Bat
Participants race from one point to a bat, spin around 10 times with head on bat, race back to teammate, slap hands and send them to the bat, continue to all teammates finish. Points awarded by time and finish ranking.
Musical Chairs
Players will compete in a modified version of musical chairs. The team that has a member sitting on a chair in the last round will be awarded first place points!
Water Balloon Toss
Each group will select partners and face each other in two lines. Balloons will be tossed and if caught, the line moves back one step. If the balloon breaks, the partners are out. Points are scored for how far apart teams make it before their balloons break.
Rubber Chicken Throw
Each participant will be given a rubber chicken or a flying pig and will throw the farm animal at a target. Points will be awarded for accuracy and creativity in sounding like the animal.
Wet-n-Wild
Each team starts with a sponge and two buckets; one bucket full of water, the other empty. The full bucket is at the head of the line and the empty bucket at the end of the line. The first participant in line starts with the sponge. That participant dunks the sponge in the bucket of water and passes it over his or her head to the next participant in line. The second participant passes the sponge under their legs, the third over their head and so on. When the sponge reaches the last participant, that participant squeezes the water left in the sponge into the empty bucket and runs to the head of the line. Everyone else on the team takes a step back as the participant who was at the end, and is now at the front, soaks the sponge and passes it back to the next participant. Points are awarded for how much water is in the bucket at the of the line when time is called.
Survivor Volleyball
Teams play volleyball. When team scores, other team must remove a Participant from their side of the court. Last team with Participants on the court wins. Points for each Participant on court. If only one Participant, they may play three hits.
4-Square
Four square is played with a rubber playground ball on a square court with four players. When the ball is bounced into your square you must then bounce it back out without hitting twice in your own square, otherwise you are out. The object is to eliminate players in higher squares so that you can make it to the 'four square' and score the most points.
Peak Fitness Monster Challenge
Teams will compete in a combo of some old-school Field Day classics and fitness challenges. Two players on each team will start by doing 10 push-ups each. One of the players will get on their hands while the other holds their legs and will do a wheel barrow race to another team member. This teammate will do 10 jumping jacks before jumping in a potato sack (or pillow case) and hopping to the finish line. Points will be awarded for the team that reaches the finish line first.
Semi-Final Relay Race
Participants in this relay will begin with the 4 legged race, move on to the noodle run (participants will be lined up in groups of three with the first person from each team facing forward and straddling the noodle. The second and third persons in line will stand facing backwards, also straddling the noodle. Once their teammates tag them, the players will weave in and out of the cone course and finish this relay!) and finish with the red ball carry in which all members must have their hands on the ball and successfully move it from one end of the field to the other without dropping it.
Tug-of-War
Teams will compete to pull the rope across a designated line. The team to win two out of three times will be crowned the winner of Creative Loafing's Field Day 2008!
