RockabillyBabe.com, the same promoter behind the Rockabilly BBQ, is bringing its latest production to Snug Harbor. There's no barbecue for this event -- it's just good ole fashioned rock. Ramonesfest '09 will take place on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. and feature a handful of bands performing the music of the legendary band The Ramones.
Headlining the event is Anti-Seen, along with Flat Tires, Psycho Devilles, 25 Minutes to Go and Trouble Walkers. Tickets are $10.
Formed in 1974, The Ramones are considered to be the "godfathers of punk music." They toured virtually nonstop until the mid-'90s. The band's three founding members, Joey, Dee Dee and Johnny, have all died since then. Tommy, who joined the band later in 1974, is the lone surviving original member. The band is known for songs such as "Blitzkrieg Bop," "Rock and Roll High School" and "I Wanna Be Sedated."
